Grandma and Grandpa D

My parents were in for a whirlwind visit, during which I learned a few things about Xander.  For starters, he loves attention.  This is great because he is a superstar over here.  Koreans stop him to talk, coo, try to pick him up (they are usually shooed away by mama), and take pictures with him.  He has become so used to being adored that when we are next to a stranger who is not paying attention to him, he will "talk" to them and try to get their attention.

I also learned that Xander travels well, but hates long car rides.  So much for the road trip I wanted to take this summer.

He misses his grandparents a ton.  He loves to be surrounded by people.  The week after my parents left, we went to library storytime, out to eat, and to two grocery stores in an attempt to fulfill his social needs.  I have no idea how two antisocial people managed to produce such an extrovert.  Fortunately for us, he started daycare this week.  His caretakers report that he "plays well with others."  I am not surprised.

I love that rice photo. We took my son Stephen to a Japanese restaurant when he was small, and I vividly remember rice scattered over a wide radius. Quite a bit did make it into his mouth, I think.
