Life in Pictures

Last weekend, we tooled around Ford Island.
We were too skint to visit the USS Missouri, so we looked at it from afar.

Then we played in the park.

We took the free tour of the Pacific Aviation Museum

This one is nicknamed "The Widowmaker" because it doesn't handle distress well.

The remains of the USS Utah.  It was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor. There are sailors entombed inside.

This weekend, we visited Koko Head Crater.  I think it's technically a caldera.  At any rate, there is a botanical garden inside where various cacti are grown.  I can't imagine how they were planted on the slopes of the crater.

If you look closely, you can see the cacti on the slopes.

Radio silence

I have not had much to say over the past few weeks, so instead, I'm posting some pictures.  We have been busy.

First we saw some big waves:

Then Bobby peeled a banana, and was not able to un-peel it.

Then we went on the Atlantis submarine.

And to Ka'ena point, where we were shunned by the seals.

We spent some time with my parents, enjoyed some free babysitting, and toured the island.  There is so much to see here, we have barely made a dent in it.

It's "cold" here today (in the 60's), so we are staying in to recover from the excitement.  More to come...
